ABOUT
In a reality lack of justice and protection, I experience the world as fragile space. I feel that as if any minute the floor below me can collapse or that my desert could be disturbed and disappear. And so, through the years and in different mediums, I have an urge and need to protect, comfort and be protected. In my works I engage in those subjects of fragility and existential anxieties, the necessity of caring and softness.
My main techniques are padding, wrapping and casting. The padding action, for an example, is one of my ways to deal with the fragility space and offer a protection: an aesthetic, a physical or a mental protection. All those materials and techniques stimulate the viewer by sight and also touch. It's defined as "tactile eyesight". And I, like in the desert where I was born, choose to observe the view, the embroiled place, the people and the pain through a "tactile glasses".
I am trying to exhibit and grant compassion in a time when it seems to disappear entirely. As such, my installations create softened "mental" spaces that contain fears, possible catastrophes or apocalyptic scenarios. Like a "limbo", each one of them is out of any particular time and space, and exists only in the thin gap between sickness and healing. They are clinical spaces with a healing effect, in which I offer a comfort.
